Blue is the color most people picture when they hear the word sapphire, and it remains the most requested color in the trade. This collection narrows our full blue sapphire range down to the stones that carry independent backing: every piece here ships with a GIA identification or origin report, so the color, treatment status, and (where determinable) provenance are verified by the industry's most trusted laboratory rather than taken on our word alone.
Why GIA-certified blue
Blue sapphire is corundum colored primarily by trace iron and titanium, and its value swings enormously on tone, saturation, and origin — a fine, GIA-certified Ceylon blue sapphire commands a real premium over an uncertified stone of similar size and color. A GIA report confirms the stone is natural corundum, states whether it has been heat-treated, and for many of our Ceylon and Madagascar pieces, offers an origin opinion.
What to expect
Tone and saturation. Blue sapphire ranges from pale cornflower to deep royal and near-black navy; medium-to-medium-dark tones with vivid saturation are generally the most prized and priced accordingly.
Treatment. Both heated and unheated stones appear in this collection — treatment status is stated on the GIA report and repeated plainly on every product page.
Certification. Every stone here carries a GIA report; the issuing lab and report number are noted on the product page.
