About Crescent Gems

Crescent Gems was founded in 2000 by Ahmed Shareek as an e-commerce business dedicated to high-quality, globally sourced gemstones. In our early years, we stocked everything from Apatite to Zircon, serving wholesalers and jewelers who came to us for well-cut, fairly priced material.

In 2001, we began exhibiting at the Tucson Gem Show in Arizona, We participated for around 4 years till we Built our customer base. As customers increasingly asked for custom cutting services, we opened our own lapidary in 2006, employing skilled gem cutters producing thousands of finished stones every month.

We've continued to evolve with the market. In 2025, we opened an office in Arizona to serve retail clients directly, alongside the trade customers we've supplied for decades. Through every stage of that growth, one principle has never changed: honest, affordable pricing.

We source our stones directly from the world's key gem-producing regions — Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Mozambique, Madagascar, and Australia — and pass the savings on to you. Most of our material is recut to exact standards in-house, then shipped directly to our USA office and listed on our website.
