Yellow sapphire is corundum in yellow, the same mineral species as blue sapphire. Each stone or matched pair in this collection is listed individually, with its own photographs, video and laboratory report details on its product page. For yellow sapphires with GIA reports, see our dedicated collection.
What Each Listing Tells You
Every product page sets out what that stone's laboratory report records, such as weight and measurements. Each listing states whether the stone is heated. Where the stone's laboratory report carries a treatment entry, we give it exactly as printed. Where a stone has a GIA report, its listing gives the report number; where a stone has a report from another laboratory, its listing names that laboratory.
Origin
Where a GIA report gives a geographic origin, the listing prints it together with GIA's caveat that any statement on geographic origin is an expert opinion. Where a stone's report gives no origin opinion, any origin named on its listing is our own sourcing record, not a laboratory finding.
Sourcing for Jyotish
If you are sourcing an unheated stone for Jyotish (Vedic astrology) use, the heat finding you are looking for is the treatment entry on the stone's laboratory report; where a report carries one, its listing gives it exactly as printed.
Choosing a Yellow Sapphire for Jewelry
Every stone here is sold loose, so your own jeweler can set it in a ring or a pendant. Plan the setting around the individual stone's measurements, which are on its listing. Ask us for more images or video of any stone before you decide, and where a stone has a GIA report, check its number on GIA's own Report Check service at reportcheck.gia.edu. To browse by shape, see oval, cushion and round sapphires.
