Our Story
We would like to introduce you to Crescent Gems. Our company was established in 2000 by Ahmed Shareek, initially launching as an e-commerce website dedicated to selling high-quality, globally sourced gemstones. In the early years, we stocked a wide variety of stones—from Apatite to Zircons—primarily serving wholesalers and jewelers looking for well-cut, affordably priced material.
Our company has evolved with market demands. Since 2020, we have specialized in fine sapphires, expanding our customer base to include retail clients alongside jewelers, while maintaining our core principle of affordable pricing.
We source our stones directly from key locations, including Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Mozambique, Madagascar, and Australia. Most of the material we acquire is rough and processed in-house. We employ several master gem cutters who transform the rough material into exquisite works of art.
After 25 years in the industry, Crescent Gems has become a well-established name with thousands of satisfied customers worldwide. Our continued success is a direct result of our dedication to our business model and commitment to hard work.

Expanding our business
We are pleased to announce that we have expanded our business by incorporating our company in the USA. This strategic move includes transferring our full stock to the US, which will enable us to provide faster and more efficient delivery to our customers.

Expanding Our Global Services
We opened gem buying offices in Ratnapura at the heart of the gem district in Sri Lanka, giving foreign dealers direct access to miners and trusted brokers, professional gem testing and certification, and full export and documentation support—all in one seamless, reliable process.

Establishing the Foundations
We registered our business way back in Oct 2000, By 2001 we were displaying at the Tucson Holiday Inn Show in Tucson, Arizona. A major milestone in our global journey was securing the Crescentgems.com domain in 2003.
