"A 1.86 carat cushion that returns light evenly across the face, with no dead spots at the corners, is what I was buying here. The report prints the color field as Yellowish Green and I have left it at that, because this report type carries no color grade. Several things on this page are mine rather than the report's: I assess the stone as untreated, I describe the clarity as minor inclusions under 10×, and I bought it as Kenyan material on our own purchase record. GIA does not issue an origin opinion for grossular garnet at all, so nobody should read Kenya off this report."
Where This Tsavorite Comes From
Tsavorite forms in the Neoproterozoic Mozambique Belt, and the deposits described in the peer-reviewed literature lie in Kenya, Tanzania and Madagascar (Feneyrol et al., European Journal of Mineralogy 26(2), 2014). The blurb printed on the GIA report states that "the significant commercial sources for this garnet are Kenya and Tanzania" — a statement about where the trade is supplied from, not about where this particular stone was mined.

It is not a GIA determination and must not be read as one: GIA does not offer geographic origin for grossular garnet, so the absence of an origin line on this report is not an option the submitter declined.

The check that matters more is identity: a GIA report recording grossular garnet rules out the other green garnets sold under the name, and the report's own Variety field prints Tsavorite.

Care of Your Tsavorite Garnet
GIA publishes care guidance for garnet: warm soapy water is always safe, ultrasonic cleaners are usually safe with an exception, and steam cleaning is not recommended. GIA also says garnets "should not be subjected to any hard blows or rough wear".
We go further than GIA on one point: we do not put this stone in an ultrasonic cleaner. That is Crescent Gems' own preference, not GIA's guidance.
