Buying a loose gemstone gives you independence, you get the freedom to make your own choice, your own jewelry design.
A 2.00-carat natural blue sapphire, 7.91 × 5.48 × 4.74 mm, cut as a radiant: a rectangular, cut-corner outline finished throughout with brilliant faceting. It comes with GIA Sapphire Report 5232922099, dated April 16, 2026, which records No Indications of Heating. The stone came to us through our own buying in Sri Lanka.
Expert Opinion
Ahmed Shareek's Assessment
"I picked this stone for its shape. The cut corners and the brilliant faceting make a crisp rectangle that sits well in a modern ring. Before you buy, watch the video and look up the report number on GIA's own site. That is what I would do."

The Cut
The trade calls this combination a radiant cut, and we use that name too. It is not a GIA term: GIA's report records the shape as Octagonal and the cutting style as Modified Brilliant Cut. The outline is a rectangle with its corners cut off, and brilliant facets cover both the top and the bottom of the stone. Brilliant facets are arranged to send light back to the eye as sparkle.
By our arithmetic, the stone is about 1.44 times as long as it is wide. It is 4.74 mm deep on a 5.48 mm width, so it is cut deep for its outline. It will face up smaller than a shallower 2.00-carat stone, and your setter will want room for it beneath the setting.
Our Sourcing Record
We buy in Sri Lanka through our offices in Colombo, Beruwala and Ratnapura, and this sapphire came to us that way. Sri Lanka is the origin in our own sourcing record. That record is ours, not a laboratory finding.
Clarity
In our own assessment, the stone shows minor inclusions under 10× magnification. GIA colored-stone reports carry no clarity grade, so this is our description, not GIA's.
Buying Guidance
- Look up report number 5232922099 on GIA's Report Check service and compare it with the GIA values listed above.
- Watch the video of this stone. If you would like more, ask us for additional photos or a video call.

Care
GIA publishes its own cleaning guidance for sapphire. We prefer lukewarm water, mild soap and a soft brush to ultrasonic or steam cleaning for a stone we have not set ourselves, because we cannot see how it will be held. That is our preference, not a warning from the report. Store it apart from other jewelry, and once it is set, take it off for heavy physical work.
One of a Kind
This is a single natural sapphire, not a laboratory-grown stone. The stone described on GIA Sapphire Report 5232922099 is the stone you receive.
